Milena Ciorach

OPDC Research Assistant

Milena graduated from the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology, University of Gdansk, Medical University of Gdansk, Poland, with a Masters degree in Biochemistry. For five years she worked at Harlan Laboratories Ltd, where she was responsible for managing  mouse and rat colonies.

She then held a position in Professor Shoumo Bhattacharya’s group involved in the project “Conditional knock out of Pcsk5 in cardiac precursors”. Her main responsibility was managing transgenic mouse colonies and genotyping, as well as preparing samples for MRI scanning and histology.

Milena joined OPDC as a research assistant in May 2010. She uses her extensive animal research experience to support researchers accross OPDC's Theme 3 work, in addition to managing the Wade-Martins lab.
